I strongly believe in the phenomenon that everyone is everyone’s keeper and needs to consider each other’s needs all the time. This means everyone living in a society, studying in a school, or working at an office is each other’s caretaker.
I am my brother’s keeper, and for that, I need to consider the following things
- Keep an Eye on the Needs
There is no joy in living an isolated life. You cannot have a living in which you would think solely about yourself. It takes away all the delight of life. However, when you keep an eye on the needs and wants of others, it is when you genuinely enjoy your life. Realizing that someone needs your help and then sorting that person’s issue gives you a better perspective of life.
- Teaching Kids the Art of Keeping
Even though “I” am aware of the fact that “I” am my brother’s keeper, “I” need to forward this thought to the next generation. For that, I will teach my kids that all the children who run within their circles are their brothers and sister and that they need to help them whenever a need arise. This creates a sense of familiarity and bonding between all the kids and allows them to become compassionate human beings.
- Knowing That No One is Perfect
When we consider the flaws of others more than acknowledging their qualities, we develop a bias against them. Realizing that no one is perfect and then bearing in mind that all are equal ripens the sense of keeping. It makes you recognize that even you are not perfect; hence everyone should help each other to be a better version of themselves.
